Today we started Unit 3- Ratios

First we took a look at our new vocabulary with a matching activity in small groups.

Then, we discussed writing ratios, similarities to fractions, and how to simplify ratios.

Tomorrow we will continue simplifying ratios and move into Rates and Unit Rates

Today ends Unit 2 Fractions!

We Self Assessed our results on the Fraction Test. Using sample questions to solve for all missed targets.

The Self Assessments will need to be completed and returned Monday if they were not completed in class Friday.






We also completed a Pre-Assessment for Unit 3: Ratios.

Today we finished up our centers for Unit 2 Review and Self Check. There were 5 centers total.

The students were also responsible for completing a One Pager- illustration for a topic covered in Unit 2.

I also conferenced with students in each class. I was only able to get half of the students complete and will continue the DEA and Unit Assessment result conferencing tomorrow.

Today in class we had A LOT going on! We had students completing tests, Ratio preview sheet, One Page illustrations of Unit 2 topics, and Unit 2 Centers.

Tomorrow will be the same process, although the test is over we will continue centers and complete those tomorrow. I will also be conferencing with each child between Thursday and Friday about Think Link testing results and Unit 1 & 2 Assessments.

Everyone worked hard today, lets see more of it tomorrow!! ;-)

TEST IS MOVED TO MONDAY & TUESDAY WE WILL NOT HAVE THE TEST ON FRIDAY!


Today we had a mixture of events going on.

Mrs. Graff was out at the beginning of the day, so 2nd and 3rd period completed a review sheet with the substitute. I did not want to let the other class periods to feel left out so they received the review sheet too. Then we continued looking at real world problems and how to represent them visually.



Review Sheet is not Homework... It was given to you to help you review! Work on it between now and Friday and we can go over any questions you have.

Today was Remediation Day.
We Reviewed all the Faction content we have learned so far:
Comparing fractions
Equivalent Fractions
Simplified Fractions
Adding and Subtracting Like and Unlike Fractions
Multiplying Fractions
Real World Problems with Adding Subtraction and Multiplying Fractions

Next week will discuss Division of fractions, recipicals, and real world situations when we have to divide fractions.

Our next unit test on Fractions will be Friday of next week!!!

Today we review Equivalent Fractions!

I brainstormed about what we already know about Equivalent Fractions, then we continued with some notes and a matching activity on the smart board.












Next we completed an independent worksheet on finding Equivalent Fractions and using then in real world problems.
