Wednesday, January 4

Today in class we completed flashbacks for bell work. If you missed today you have Friday to attempt to receive your full 15 points for your bell work for the week.

Then, we continued work with graphing lines using equations in slope-intercept form and writing equations in slope-intercept form.

Reminders:
·        In the equation  y = mx + b

                  m                  = slope

                  b                  = y-intercept

·        When graphing a line using slope-intercept follow the steps below.
o      First plot the y-intercept on the y-axis
o      Then apply the slope from the equation starting from the y-intercept.
o      Once you have two points draw your line.

·        When you are writing an equation for a line that has already been graphed for you
o      First Find  the y-intercept on the y-axis.
o      Write it in the equation for b
o      Then fine the slope from the line starting from the y-intercept to the second point on the line.
o      Write the (simplified) slope in for the m.

Homework was assigned. I have posted a picture of the class work and the homework that was assigned.

If you were absent you will need to see me for a copy of the handout to complete the class work and homework.
